Please join us for a FREE screening of the documentary film “This Adventure Called California” and an expert panel discussion on labor trafficking.
This virtual screening will be shown via Zoom (registration information is forthcoming).
To help create awareness that human trafficking happens in our own Bay Area backyards on July 31, 2026, we are delighted to be partnering with Tree Climber Media and award-winning Producer and Director Jennifer Huang to screen this film that addresses the vulnerabilities of being trafficked and re-exploited and the determination and incredible resilience of the protagonist, Arnoldo Lopez Contreras, to move forward and overcome constant obstacles.
A panel discussion on the impact and challenges of trafficking in our communities will follow the screening. Panelists are still being confirmed and include:
Rafael Bautista, a Member of the US Advisory Council on Human Trafficking
Ruth Silver Taube, Law Office of Silver & Taube; Adjunct Professor, SCU School of Law; Special Counsel, Legal Aid at Work
