Join us on September 18 , 2026 for the 2026 Annual Reentry Conference and Expo: Celebrating 14 Years, at the Saint Mary’s Cathedral Event Center in San Francisco. Our very own Rose Mukhar will be part of a panel focused on Exploitation, Justice, and Economic Empowerment. Panelists include:
Marissa Harris, Assistant United States Attorney, Northern District of California
Rafael Bautista, Member of the U.S. Advisory Council on Human Trafficking
Elaine Villasper, Executive Director of the Filipino Community Center
Moderated by Ivy Lee, Director of San Francisco Mayor’s Office for Victims’ Rights
This unique panel brings together a survivor leader, a nationally recognized human trafficking attorney, a prominent immigrant rights advocate, and a victim services leader to examine labor trafficking through multiple perspectives. Rather than focusing solely on awareness, panelists will explore the structural conditions that place people at risk, the legal and community-based responses available to survivors, and the pathways toward economic stability, empowerment, and justice. Attendees will gain insight into how labor trafficking intersects with workforce development, victim services, immigration, and reentry. The panel will also highlight practical strategies for identifying exploitation, supporting survivors, strengthening worker protections, and building communities where dignity, safety, and economic opportunity are accessible to all.
