We Are 9 Years Old!

Where did the time go?

Justice At Last turned 9 years old on July 24, 2024.

To celebrate, we want to recognize and thank YOU & ALL of our dedicated Supporters, Contributors, Funders, Volunteers, Staff, Advisors, and Board members over the years for being by our side, uplifting our work, and helping trafficked survivors achieve justice.

We realize that we would not be here today without ALL of YOUR help, so thank YOU and please join us in celebrating this accomplishment!

Since 2015, we have provided legal representation and comprehensive supportive services to over 1,000 survivors of trafficking throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and trained over 10,000 pro bono attorneys, case managers, law enforcement officers, social workers, community stakeholders, court personnel, and survivors about the legal rights of and forms of relief for trafficked persons.

Celebrating Our Staff Anniversaries!

There is no better way to celebrate our 9th birthday than by recognizing our staff members! Please read below to learn about our employee champions.

Saerom Choi has been with Justice At Last for 2 years, joining us Operations Manager, and then Operations Director. Saerom leads the efforts in directing and carrying out the organization’s infrastructure and day-to-day operations that allows us to achieve our goals and mission of empowering survivors of human trafficking to seek and achieve justice on their own terms.

"As I reflect on the past two years with Justice At Last, I am filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. It has been an incredible journey that has enriched my perspective and is marked by significant milestones and achievements that have moved our organization and the work forward.

From streamlining processes to driving innovation, our organization has worked tirelessly to elevate our operations and deliver outstanding results to make sure we are growing sustainably and wisely. I am grateful for the trust and support of our leadership team members, without whom these successes would not have been possible. Working towards common goals has strengthened my sense of belonging and commitment to the organization. Here's to many more years of growth, collaboration, and excellence!"

Bora Lee has been the Managing Attorney at Justice At Last for 2 years and is responsible for supervising a comprehensive legal services program to serve the unique needs of trafficked persons. This highly responsible position manages the development, coordination and delivery of quality trauma-informed legal services to survivors of human trafficking through broad based collaboration.

"In the last two years I have worked at Justice At Last, I was given the opportunity to transition from senior staff attorney to managing attorney.

I've watched the team grow and accomplish incredible things on behalf of our clients, such as winning contested vacatur matters, obtaining many T visa approvals, and establishing legal precedent for survivors of sex trafficking on the appellate level. I am humbled and honored by this experience, and I'm excited to see what the future holds."

Ana Sanderson has been a staff attorney for Justice At Last for 1 year. Ana transitioned into the non-profit sphere in order to fully commit to social impact work in the field of human rights.

"Working at Justice At Last, a non-profit dedicated to serving victims of human trafficking has been both a privilege and a profound journey. Over the past year, I've found deep fulfillment in contributing to a cause that truly makes a difference in people's lives."

Chelsea Bharani has been a Staff Attorney at Justice At Last for 1 year as a California Registered Legal Aid Attorney. Before joining Justice At Last, Chelsea was a real estate investor and also worked as in-house counsel in the construction industry, while secretly harboring the dream of making the leap to the nonprofit sector.

"I have been at Justice At Last for just over a year now, and in that time, I have found transitioning from the corporate world to the nonprofit world refreshing. I really enjoy the focus on quality and client care at Justice At Last and being exposed to a broad range of legal issues."
