Gratitude, Grit & 10 Years of Justice

💛 Dear Friends and Supporters,

As the leaves change, we are filled with gratitude for you.

Thanks to your unwavering support, we’ve spent this summer standing beside survivors of human trafficking, advocating fiercely, and preparing to celebrate 10 years of life-changing legal work.

Every time you volunteer, donate, attend events, or simply spread the word, you help trafficking survivors reclaim their power and rewrite their stories.

This letter recaps what we have been working on this past summer and reiterates our thanks and gratitude to you for always being here to support us along the way!

⚖️ Summer 2025 Impact Highlights

🔹 Legal Frontlines

We’ve represented & supported 144 trafficking survivors so far this year.
Some of our clients, who cooperated with law enforcement, are now facing detention and deportation.
With many partners at capacity, we have stepped up to take on complex immigration cases no one else could.
Our trauma-informed legal and advocacy teams are stretched, but also stronger than ever.

🔹 Community in Action

This summer, we hosted 3 open houses in Redwood City, San Jose, and Oakland.
Screened “This Adventure Called California” in San Francisco.
Welcomed 37 guests to our final summer outreach event in Oakland, including local leaders and longtime supporters.
We have trained a total of 1420 community stakeholders about the rights and forms of relief of trafficked survivors.

👏 Huge thanks to our staff, board, and incredible volunteers who made these events shine.

🔹 Legislative Leadership

Co-sponsored AB 1362, a game-changing bill to protect H-2A agricultural workers from exploitation.
Partnered with amazing allies, including Assemblymember Ash Kalra, the Sunita Jain Anti-Trafficking Initiative, Loyola Law School, Pilipino Workers Center of Southern California, Santa Clara County Wage Theft Coalition, and Freedom United.
Thank you to every advocate pushing this legislation forward!
We also welcomed our Wellesley College interns, Dahae Kim and Dayanara Avelar, who championed our policy outreach with passion and purpose.
