Dear Community: I am pleased to announce that our very own Rose Mukhar, Executive Director and Principal Attorney of Justice At Last, has been named as one of nine recipients in this year’s O2 Initiative’s Sabbatical Award! The award honors dedicated Bay Area nonprofit executive directors with an essential three-month break for reflection and renewal. It is well proven that sabbaticals recharge executive directors and empower leadership throughout an organization. The result is a stronger and more dynamic team re-energized to partner with their communities to create positive change. I am excited for Rose, the Leadership Team and everyone at Justice At Last for this sabbatical opportunity. Rose will start her break on October 15, 2024, returning on February 1, 2025, and she will not be attending to any Justice At Last related work while on sabbatical. This is much more than an extended vacation, it is an opportunity for Rose to have time for self-care, balance and harmony in life, all part of the sustainable work culture we strive for at Justice At Last. We have an excellent, experienced and talented Leadership Team and they have been preparing for Rose’s absence with the help of the O2 Sabbatical Coach. During Rose’s absence, the Leadership Team will be the
