By now, we hope that you have heard the news that Justice At Last is honoring individuals and organizations from across California for their outstanding advocacy and unwavering commitment to justice on behalf of vulnerable populations at our Celebrating 10 Years of Justice event on October 26, 2025. Our Champions of Justice Awardees represent the diverse efforts and partnerships—including prosecutors, government agencies, pro bono attorneys, corporations, and community advocates—who we have worked with over the past decade to help trafficking survivors achieve justice on their own terms. One of these Champions is Ruth Silver Taube. Ruth has been a mentor, a leader, a trusted partner, and a source of inspiration to all of us at Justice At Last. As a founding Board member of Justice At Last, she has relentlessly pursued justice for survivors of trafficking and workers whose wages have been stolen, misclassified, or unjustly withheld, all while advocating and supporting our mission since 2015. We are honored to recognize Ruth for her extraordinary contributions to legal aid organizations like Justice At Last, for her policy advocacy, and for her steadfast dedication to protecting the rights of California’s most vulnerable persons. Ruth is the Supervising Attorney of the Workers’ Rights Practice at the Katharine & George Alexander Community Law Center at Santa Clara University School of Law and an Adjunct Professor at the law school. She is Legal Services Provider Co-Chair of the South Bay Coalition to End Human Trafficking, a delegate to the Santa Clara County’s Human Trafficking Commission, Coordinator of the Santa Clara County Wage Theft Coalition, an Advisory Member to the Santa Clara County Hate Crimes Task Force, a founding member of the Bay Area Equal Pay Collaborative, and the Supervising Attorney of the Santa Clara County Office of Labor Standards Legal Advice Line and member of the Fair Workplace Collaborative. Please be sure to thank and congratulate Ruth on all her contributions in the fight against wage theft, exploitation, and human trafficking while combining legal excellence with an unshakeable moral compass.
