Announcing Our Newest Board Members

We are excited to welcome three new board members to the Justice At Last Board of Directors. Their expertise and experience will truly enrich our Board and enable us to strengthen our work towards fulfilling our mission of helping trafficked persons seek and achieve justice on their own terms.

Please join us in welcoming Karthik Arumugam, Sherrie Friedman and Natasha Lee and take a few minutes to read why they each joined our Board.

Karthik Arumugam is a seasoned tech executive with over 20 years of experience and is currently with Mitel, leading strategy and transformation initiatives.

“I strongly believe that there is still enough room on this planet for everyone to choose how to live happily, but without stepping on one another, much less forcing others or breaking families to someone else's benefit. Human Trafficking flies in the face of this belief, and I wanted to do whatever little I can to help address this problem. Justice At Last’s mission of helping those who have been trafficked by providing free legal services such that they can get another shot at life resonates strongly with me, and I am very grateful to have the opportunity to work with this wonderful team.”

Sherrie Friedman is a member of the San Mateo County Private Defender Panel, where she represents parents and children in juvenile dependency cases and probate conservatorship cases.

“As a lawyer who has witnessed the profound challenges faced by victims of trafficking, I felt a deep responsibility to join the board of Justice At Last. I have a commitment to advocate for those whose voices are often silenced. I believe that through legal support we can empower survivors, challenge injustices, and contribute to a world where freedom and dignity are realities for all. My experience with clients in these situations has reinforced my resolve to fight for change, and I am honored to be part of an organization that stands at the forefront of this crucial battle."

Natasha Lee is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in non-profits and currently serves as the Vice President for Finance and Administration at the Pacific School of Religion.

“I joined the Justice At Last Board because their mission resonates deeply with my commitment to social justice. As someone who has witnessed the impact of inequality firsthand, being part of this board allows me to actively contribute to a cause that I hold close to my heart, fueling my commitment to creating a fairer and more just society.”
